SupplierConnect - Closing the procurement loop between buyer and supplier
As organisations strive to implement closed loop procurement processes it is often the case
that suppliers are left out of the loop. In most implementations to date, suppliers continue
to receive purchase orders via fax or email rather than developing direct integration to
internal systems.
The main reason behind this trend is that the costs of implementing an integrated solution
are prohibitive for the vast majority of suppliers.
With the release of the open source SupplierConnect project, suppliers now have the opportunity
to create a fully integrated solution between customer applications and their internal systems
with minimal cost.
What it does
The solution delivers a standard framework for receiving and handling XML documents including
functionality that allows integration to internal systems such as sales order processing systems.
SupplierConnect is particularly suited to suppliers transacting with customers who have
implemented an eProcurement solution. For existing Ariba customers and their suppliers,
SupplierConnect has out of the box integration to the ASN and the cXML specification
used by Ariba. Support is also offered for users of BASDA’s eBIS-XML framework.

Implementation
As an open source project, kenisys have released the source code for the SupplierConnect solution.
Organisations are free to download and deploy the solution from
supplierconnect.sourceforge.net
kenisys can also provide consultancy and implementation services for organisations requiring
assistance in deploying the SupplierConnect solution. In addition to system integration,
kenisys also offer a number of pre-built modules to deliver enhanced SupplierConnect
functionality. Modules for Electronic Invoicing, Order Status Updates and Reporting
are offered with customised enhancements available on request.
